Floyd Edward Rittenberry
Floyd Edward Rittenberry, age 69, of Lafayette passed away on Friday, November 3, 2017 at his residence. Funeral services were held on Monday, November 6, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from the Drapers Cross Roads Missionary Baptist Church with Elder Greg West officiating. Honorary Pallbearers were his grandchildren, nephews, Jimmy Thompson and special niece, Abigail Lloyd. Phillip Brummett, Jeff Hix, Jerry Hix, John Jones, Joey Woodard, Kenny Reagan, and Nelson White were active Pallbearers. Interment was in the Anderson & Son Memorial Park in Lafayette.
Floyd Rittenberry was born on October 17, 1948 in Barren County, KY, one of three children born to the late Boyd and Doris (Morrow) Rittenberry. He married the former Betty Reagan on July 6, 1968, who survives and lives in Lafayette. Floyd worked as a Telephone Engineer with Ladd Engineers. During that time, North Central Telephone Company contracted with Ladd Engineers and Floyd worked many times in the North Central Telephone area. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Leonard Reagan. Floyd served his country in the United States Army and, among other service medals, he was awarded a Bronze Star. He was a member of the Drapers Cross Roads Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. In addition to his wife, he is survived by: son, Nicky and wife, Amanda Rittenberry, daughters: Tammy and husband, Chris Gunter, all of Lafayette, Sarah and husband, Clint Keen of Westmoreland, brother, Charles and wife, Marcella Rittenberry of Lafayette, sister, Nora and husband, Steve Turner of Red Boiling Springs, grandchildren, Meagan Gunter, Christopher Gunter, Ashlyn Rittenberry, Johnny Rittenberry, Cryslyn Rittenberry, Christian Rittenberry and Chase Rittenberry, all of Lafayette, Madison Keen of Westmoreland, mother-in-law of Ruth Reagan of Tompkinsville, KY.
