Marie Franklin Simpkins, age 82 of the Gum Tree Community in Monroe County, KY passed away Wednesday morning, July 30, 2025 at The Signature Healthcare of Monroe in Tompkinsville, KY. Marie is in the care of Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette, TN.
Funeral Services for Marie Franklin Simpkins, will be conducted Friday afternoon, August 1, 2025, at 1:00 pm from the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Holland, KY with Elder David Towe & Allan Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Visitation will begin on Thursday at Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again on Friday at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Holland, KY from 10:00 am until service time at 1:00 pm.
Family request memorials be made to the Mt. Zion Cemetery. You may make these memorials by calling or coming by the funeral home.
She is preceded in death by: Parents, Rhea & Rubie M. Smith Gammon, Husbands, Elder Randall Barton and Ned Nelson Jenkins, & Great-grandson, Chance Ned Watkins.
Survivors include: Son, Allan Jenkins & wife, Linda of the Coleytown Community, Sister, Bettie Sue Shoulders of Greenbriar, Grandchildren, Jaquitta Jenkins of Hartsville, Kyle Jenkins of Lafayette, Clint Jenkins of Allons, TN, Jessie Jenkins of Mud Lick, KY, Dennetria Wilmore of Lafayette, Step-Grandchildren, Andrew Evetts of Lafayette, Allison Kempf of Florida, and Alethea Likens of Lafayette, 19 Great-Grandchildren, Special Companion, Paul Milam.
